Kyle reached out inquiring about doing a Jolene Family Winery proposal photography session a few weeks ago. He needed someone to document the moments surrounding this special occasion because he had the perfect location picked out in Quinton, Virginia.

Kyle also informed me that after finding the right venue, he also found the perfect picnic setup through Picnic RVA and wanted me to arrive about 20 minutes before their scheduled time. This was to facilitate meeting Polina and working with her to make sure that we worked together on our final details to make it a success from the background. I’m gonna plug them for a sec – you need to book a picnic with Polina ASAP. Totally not kidding – She was AMAZING to work with.

Okay – Back to the plan:

They arrived and entered through the tasting room. They ordered and hung out for a few minutes so nothing would seem suspicious. Then, they came outside to find their picnic setup. They walked the long way around to avoid seeing me and Kyle kept Lindsay’s focus on the creek. Sneakily, he got into prime position to ask. When Lindsay turned around, she saw Kyle on one knee holding the oh-so beautiful ring. She cried, he smiled. We did a mini-engagement session, and then they enjoyed their little romantic moment and let it all sink in.

Simplistic, yet SO romantic don’t you think?
